Le Mans legend, 5 time winner of the event and 2 times World Sportscar Champion Derek Bell heads a star cast of celebrities ready to meet you at both the main show on Sunday and our special charity dinner held in the Royal Hospital’s Grand Hall on Saturday night.

Rally star reunited
After 26 years, former Finnish rally and race car driver, Harri Toivonen, will be reunited with his 1986 Works Metro 6R4 at this year’s Chelsea AutoLegends. This awesome machine will be just one of a number that will form our popular rally car display that features many of the past rally legends that stars such as Paddy Hopkirk, Carlo Sainz and Michele Mouton drove.
2012 LMP2 polesetter set to arrive
The ADR-Delta team made its debut at Le Mans this year in fine style by taking the LMP2 class pole. Eventually finishing 6th in class, this superb Nissan powered Oreca is now set to join fellow Brit’s Strakka Racing at Chelsea AutoLegends after returning from the World Endurance Championship round at Silverstone the weekend before.
Warm welcome for the Antarctic adventurer
The Polar 4x4 that attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest drive across the South Pole last June lines up alongside the Walking with the Wounded team which undertook a North Pole expedition with HRH Prince Harry in 2011. The charity which funds the re-training and re-education of servicemen and women, will be speaking at the prestigious Chelsea AutoLegends dinner on Saturday 1st September and will also be fundraising at the show.
Our ‘70’s cool’ celebration kicks off with James Hunt’s car
The 1970’s saw the rise of the magnificent McLaren M23 that won 16 Grand Prix and two World Championships including James Hunt’s dramatic, controversial (and now movie making) title win in 1976 – so it’s great news that we will have the dashing hero’s car here to kick off our ‘70’s Cool’ celebrations.
New HR Owen paddock set to make mouths water
We’re both proud and excited to announce that HR Owen will have a major presence here at this year’s show; the HR Owen paddock alone will be offering a simply mouth-watering display that will include the Bugatti Vitesse, Bentley Continental GTV V8, Bentley Mulsanne, Ferrari California, Ferrari FF, Lamborghini Aventador, Maserati Gran Turismo S, Maserati Gran Cabrio and Rolls-Royce Phantom II.
HR Owen show stopping showroom
It doesn’t really get better than this. As well as the HR Own paddock display the much celebrated company will have its own showroom that will feature Lamborghini Gallardo Super Leggera, Ferrari 599, 458 and FF, Maserati Gran Turismo, Gran Cabrio and MC Stradale and Quatraportte, Rolls-Royce Phantom I and Ghost….and we said their paddock display was mouth-watering!
Touring car star Read rides in
Among the many stars here to greet you will be former Touring Car ace Anthony Read. Not only did he compete at the highest level in the BTCC for Ford and Nissan but he beat 1997 F1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve to the Japanese Formula three title and came 3rd overall in the 24 hours of Le Mans.
Wilds World Champion party
Joining the party will be a host of World Champions including Mike Wilds - former 70’s Shadow, March, , Ensign Grand Prix driver who secured the 1986 C2 World Sportscar Championship title with Ecurie Ecosse. This racing star continues to shine recently winning both the Britcar drivers Championship and the Group C Endurance Trophy.

Known in the 70’s as the ‘Prince of Speed’ 8 x Champion Phil Read MBE will again head up our two wheel celebrations arriving in force from the London Bikers landmark venue – the Ace Café. Expect a superb range of contemporary makes and classics to power in to our Ace Café ‘Power Park’.
Former 4 x World Champ’ and manufacturer extraordinaire adds spice
Gordon Spice - 70’s saloon car hero, 20 time Le Mans competitor, 4 x C2 World Champion, constructor of the most successful C2 car ever and author of ‘the life of spice’ that provides his own wickedly witty recollections of his racing life will again grace the grounds of the Royal Hospital with his inimitable presence.
Legendary 20’s Grand Prix Bugatti roars in
As one of the most respected vehicles from the Ettore Bugatti legacy, winning over 1000 races in the roaring 20’s and considered as the most beautiful of all pre-war racers, it is with great pleasure we have on show one of the finest examples of the legendary Bugatti T35’s – Norman Goodman’s, Tim Dutton maintained 1929 Bugatti Grand Prix T35B.
Derek’s sister car to star
Few would disagree that the Porsche 956 was the most beautiful Group C car ever built. This year’s superb Le Mans lineup features the glorious Schuppan / Hayward / Holbert 1983 Le Mans winner (2nd in ’82) - the factory’s sister car to the one 5 x winner Derek Bell (here himself at Chelsea AutoLegends) drove to his win in 1982.
Chelsea gears up for children
While Dad drawls over DB’s and Mum Maserati’s (or the luxury goods stands), making sure this is a family festival of fun - Zorb Racing, Assault Course, Electric Kart Racing and, for the really little ones, a Bouncy Castle are all on the programme. If you’ve got them - don’t forget the kids as we haven’t!
Harrods McLaren F1 GTR makes welcome return
Now converted to road use and resplendent in its superb yellow and green Harrods livery, we warmly welcome back Dave Clark’s stunning McLaren F1 GTR that Derek Bell, his son Justin and Andy Wallace brought home 3rd in the 1995 edition of the legendary 24hrs of Le Mans.
H.R. Owen bring the world’s fastest roadster ever
To the delight of enthusiasts and owners alike, H.R.Owen will be arriving in greater force than ever before at this year’s event and their mouth-watering display will now include the amazing Bugatti Veyron Vitesse – heralded by the press as the fastest roadster in the world.
Formula One fires up Chelsea
The kids are just going to love this. For the first time Grand Prix cars come to Chelsea. As well as celebrating the past, the Marussia F1 Team bring us right up to date with one of their most contemporary challengers.

With France the home to our beloved Le Mans 24hrs, France in London, the French Chamber of Commerce and French Radio London have combined forces to promote the new French Village that will provide a certain "je ne sais quoi“ to this years’ event.
ROFGO provides a round of Gulf
We are proud to announce that a choice selection from the celebrated ‘ROFGO collection’ will appear at Chelsea for the very first time. This privately owned ’secret’ collection, only uncovered last year in Paris and introduced by Duncan Hamilton, features some of the most historic cars to ever carry the iconic Gulf livery.
Howden flies in for 40th anniversary
40 years ago the Graham Hill/Henri Pescarolo ‘Matra Simca MS670’ won Le Mans. Pole and 2nd overall went to Howden Ganley, who shared the sister car with Francois Cervert and will fly in from the USA to be reunited with this stunning machine here at Chelsea AutoLegends.
Stars cars - Chelsea Reunited
Chelsea AutoLegends will be reuniting other stars too; Peter Sutcliffe with his ‘65 Ford GT40 that was also raced by legends such as Innes Ireland and Mike Hailwood, and former Finnish race and rally star, Harri Toivonen, will be reunited with his 1986 Works Metro 6R4.
The magic of the Prancing Horse returns
Come choose your weapon. Will it be the ‘56 Ferrari 500 TRC, 1st in class at Le Mans in ‘57, David Piper’s rare Ferrari 365 P2 or one of a host of a late 50s, 60s and early 70s prancing horses from the ‘58 250 GT Tour de France to the 1971 Dino 246 GT. They just keep coming – Bellissimo!
Bentley Medley for Le Mans line up
Included in our now celebrated Le Mans line are two of Bentley’s winning cars. The 2003 Bentley Speed 8 that was driven to victory by Rinaldo Capello, Guy Smith and Tom Kristensen will sit proudly alongside its 1927 counterpart, the Bentley 3 litre Super Sport.
TV adventurer Charley Boorman powers in
Thundering their way from the celebrated Ace Café, a fleet of amazing motorcycles will be welcomed into the grounds by 8 time World Motorcycle Champion Phil Read joined by TV’s motorcycling adventurer and enthusiast Charley Boorman.
Lord Drayson to electrify our new Techno Park
We are proud to announce that as Patron to our new Techno Park (that will showcase the future of motorsport and motoring technology), Lord Drayson, the former Minister of State for Science and Innovation, will display his new record beating 200mph electric LMP car.
Pininfarina - We pay tribute to the architect of cars
As a tribute to the late, great Italian coachbuilder Sergio Pininfarina who recently passed away this year, Chelsea AutoLegends will celebrate his incredible life and genius and that of his father the legendary Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina with a superb line up of their iconic cars.
The Ecurie Ecosse legend
Founded in 1952, Le Mans winners in both 1956 and ‘57, revived in the 80’s to win the 1986 C2 World Sportscar Championship and now competing in such Blue Riband events such as the Spa 24 hours - we celebrate Scotland’s legendary Ecurie Ecosse team through the age.
Strakka set to stun
We’re pleased to announce that 2010 LMP2 winners of Le Mans and one of Britain’s top sports racing teams ‘Strakka Racing’ will return to Chelsea AutoLegends this year bringing with them their stunning new Honda Performance Development HPD ARX-03a competing in this year’s FIA World Endurance Championship.

It truly is. To add further flavour to the distinctive and quintessential atmosphere of the event, for the first time we’ll be setting up our own ‘retro style’ pit boxes. These will feature more ‘Auto Legends’ and add further celebratory panache to the history of the fastest sportscars in the world.

Rare Ferrari 500 TRC graces the grounds of Chelsea
Taken to a class victory at Le Mans in 1957 by the great Lucian Bianchi and superbly restored by Dave Cottingham of DK Engineering, this rare and almost priceless Ferrari 500 TRC became what was to be known as one of the company’s most aesthetically beautiful, brilliantly engineered and efficient sports racing cars ever.

Now owned by the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu and painstakingly restored, Sydney Allard’s 1961 Allard Chrysler, Europe’s first ever drag racer, will provide a pioneering piece of motorsport history that helped shape the future with characteristics of Allard’s iconic art-deco, streamlined design still seen today at the highest level of motorsport.
